Sandhya A.S. Economic Sociologist Labour | Migration | Cross-Border Labour Markets
I am an economic sociologist interested in studying labour migration and the organization of cross-border labour markets. I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Bielefeld University in a DFG-funded Research Training Group that examines the formation of such markets. My own work focuses on the social and cultural situatedness of work and labour process. Trained in India and Germany, my research draws on perspectives from both sociology and social anthropology, reflecting the more fluid disciplinary boundaries characteristic of South Asian intellectual traditions.
